Good Morning! We have completed the Book of JOB. Thomas and I share a few of our thoughts with you in the book of JOB. The book of JOB talks about JOB who is loyal and obedient to God but has to go through much suffering, guilt, punishment, justice, good and evil. Job was a man who lived in the land of Uz. He was a perfect, upright, and righteous man who was rich and feared God and eschewed evil. Job’s first wife was Sitidos (Sitis). Her name may have the same root as the word Satan in Hebrew or Sotah (unfaithful wife). The first test Satan did was to take away all of Job’s animals, killing the servants that were with the animals, and killing all of Job’s 7 sons and 3 daughters while they were eating together. And the LORD said unto Satan who tried to tempt Job, behold, all that he has in his power; only upon himself put not forth from the presence. Job professes his truth in God in everything and suffering from illness. Job arose and rent his mantle and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshiped, and said, naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave and the LORD take it away; blessed be the name of the LORD. In all this Job sinned not. Satan made a second request of God. And, Satan the adversary spoke to God. And, Satan answered the LORD and said skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will be given for his life. Touch his bone and his flesh and he will curse thee to thy face. The LORD, told Satan, behold, he is in thy hand; but save his life. Job’s wife told him to curse God and die. Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

All the ineffective responses of his friends along with his struggle for faith and understanding and mirror our own experiences in the world. We must trust God even though we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes in our life. We must trust God under all circumstances, not only when we do not understand, Job had prayed for his friends and the LORD gave him twice as much as he had before. God blessed Job in his latter end days more than his beginning. God restored all his animals and blessed him with another wife, Dinah the daughter of Jacob in Genesis, 7 sons and 3 daughters. Job gave his children their inheritance. Job lived to 140 years and saw his sons and his sons’ sons, even to 4 generations. Job died, being old and full of days.
