Good Morning! We have completed the Book of 2 Samuel. Thomas and I share our thoughts with you from the book of 2 Samuel. The book of 2 Samuel tells us the story of David’s reign over Israel, his adultery, how he testified to the power of God’s faithfulness and forgiving love. David defeated the Philistines and organized the troops to bring the Ark of the Covenant home to Israel, it serves as a symbol of the living God and had been missing for seventy years. On David’s victory he brought the Ark home while shouting with the sound of the trumpet, and he dance before the Lord with all his might. We offer a sacrifice of Praise to God and we thank him for what he does by praising his Name and telling others of the Glory of His greatness. David was acquainted with God’s mercy, his actions, and self control. But he saw this woman, Bathsheba, and he revealed his weakness. David failed God, he abused his kingly powers, deceived one of his soldiers and had him murdered and almost his own. For David not to show no mercy, he cried out to God! “Have Mercy upon me, O God!” Psalm 51:1. In time of life only God’s mercy will help. Sometimes we are beaten by our own circumstances, hands of others, abuse, wounded and defeated. We just can’t take it. The truth is, we are ALL in need of God’s Mercy and the good news is that he is always available for us. Thank you Jesus.
